Spring & Fall Yard Cleanup • Chicago’s North Shore, Chicagoland & Lake Geneva
Every Season Deserves a Clean Beginning
Twice a year, this climate turns the page, and the properties that look effortless are the ones that mark the occasion. Our seasonal cleanups are the reset: winter’s debris cleared before the tulips arrive, autumn’s fall managed before the snow seals it in. The landscape starts each act composed.
More Than Raking. A Full Reset.
A proper yard cleanup is a checklist with judgment behind it.
In spring: beds cut back and cultivated, winter damage pruned out, lawns dethatched and edged, drainage checked after the melt, mulch refreshed for the season ahead. In fall: leaves managed completely rather than approximately, perennials cut or left standing by design intent, turf given its winter feeding, and the systems of the property put to bed properly. Done by crews who will also be the ones facing whatever they left undone in April, which is why nothing ever gets left undone.

What to Know Before Choosing ILT Vignocchi
-
A spring cleanup prepares the property for the growing season: cutting back perennials and ornamental grasses left standing through winter, clearing leaves and debris from beds and lawn, dethatching and edging turf, pruning out winter damage, cultivating beds, checking drainage after the melt, and refreshing mulch. ILT Vignocchi works a full checklist rather than making a quick pass, and all debris leaves the property with the crew.
-
Once the ground has firmed and before early bulbs push through, which in Chicagoland usually falls between late March and mid-April depending on the winter. Going too early risks compacting saturated soil and damaging emerging growth, while waiting too long means working around plants that are already up. ILT Vignocchi schedules by watching conditions rather than by a fixed calendar date.
-
After most leaves have dropped but before the first lasting snow, typically late October into November in Chicagoland. Leaves left matted on turf through winter smother grass and invite disease, and beds left uncut hold moisture against plant crowns. Properties with heavy tree cover often need two visits. ILT Vignocchi plans fall cleanups around your canopy, since a property with mature oaks keeps dropping for weeks after the neighbors have finished.
-
Both, in the right places. A thin layer of shredded leaves in planting beds genuinely improves soil and shelters overwintering pollinators, but matted whole leaves on turf block light and air and produce disease by spring. ILT Vignocchi clears turf completely, leaves a measured amount of shredded leaf litter in beds where a client wants it, and removes everything else.

Yes, standalone spring and fall cleanups are available across Chicago's North Shore, Chicagoland, and the Lake Geneva area, and they are often how new clients first work with us. For clients already on a maintenance program, cleanups anchor the care calendar and are included.
